BTA East District to Host Grand Slam 2011

Kansas City, MO — On Sept. 22-23, 2011, the Business Technology Association’s (BTA; www.bta.org) East district will host Grand Slam 2011 at the Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, in White Plains, N.Y.
The event will feature a keynote address by Rick Taylor, president and COO of Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc., and five additional education sessions led by industry leaders providing insight and strategies that can help any office technology dealership reach new heights. The event will also feature the products and services of 32 exhibiting sponsors, many of which will hold drawings for great prizes during the event. Attendees can also enter onsite for a chance to win a $500 American Express gift card from BTA. The event will wrap up with an evening at Yankee Stadium to see the Boston Red Sox take on the New York Yankees.
The event begins the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 22, with Taylor’s keynote, “Five Keys to Success: A Proven Blueprint for Independent Dealers.” In this session, Taylor will share his vision for success in a rapidly changing marketplace. At the end of the keynote, attendees will be able to pinpoint the industry’s key areas for strategic growth and how to strengthen their leadership positions in the marketplace while providing their customers with the best possible support.
Following the keynote, there will be a cocktail reception where attendees will have the opportunity to network with fellow dealers and exhibiting sponsors.
The second day will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, with breakfast and five education sessions that include: “Building High Performance Sales Teams in a Transitioning Industry,” with Tom Cooke and Kim Ward of Learning Outsource Group; “The Rise of Social Media in Business” with Martin Perry of in2communications Inc.; “State of the Office Document Technology Industry”
and “Looking Beyond Print with Managed Services” with Jon Reardon and Randy Dazo of InfoTrends; “Succession Planning for Your Dealership” with Jim Kahrs of Prosperity Plus Management Consulting Inc.; and “MPS Problems Solved —Process, Product & Service” with Frank Topinka of National Printer Repair Network and Page After Page.The event will conclude with a night at Yankee Stadium to see the Boston Red Sox take on the New York Yankees. Attendees will enjoy the evening in the Club Suite — the largest private suite in the stadium. BTA Member General Registration for Grand Slam 2011 is $229, which includes the Thursday and Friday education sessions, Thursday welcoming reception, Friday continental breakfast, lunch and Friday Red Sox vs. Yankees game, which includes dinner, soft drinks and bottled water. There will be a cash bar for alcoholic beverages. BTA Member General Registration without the Red Sox vs. Yankees game ticket is $199 and includes everything listed above, with the exception of the game ticket.
