1. Utilities Declare “Success!” at Ricoh’s Second Go Beyond the Meter Conference

Managed Print Services Connect (Jul 24 2012)

    1. BOULDER, Colo. – July 24, 2012 Ricoh Production Print Solutions LLC (Ricoh), a leading provider of digital output solutions, today announced that its second Go Beyond the Meter conference earned high praise from the utility industry leaders who attended and benefited from the event.  This peer-to-peer forum brought together utility executives, industry analysts, and thought leaders who openly shared best practices for customer communications, discussed emerging trends, and debated today’s opportunities and challenges.

Feedback from attendees was extremely positive, following suit from the inaugural Go Beyond the Meter event.  Attendees not only complimented the presentations and overall event, but also took the time to share positive feedback about their personal relationships with the company:

      • An international utility organization talked about their deregulated environment and how they’ve leveraged their customer communications to help increase loyalty.  “It’s not about being the cheapest, but about providing value – you must make an emotional connection.”
      •  “Great learning, great networking, great fun!,” stated a Southeastern US utility that serves more than four million customers.  The executive continued “…our Ricoh sales reps are proactive and there before we need them.”
      • A Northwestern utility organization highlighted the value of the billing statement in their customer communications, and how important the Ricoh relationship has been in leveraging it for improved customer relations.  He commented: “Ricoh has helped us through our entire journey and has been a valued trusted advisor for their communications strategy.”

Go Beyond the Meter aims to foster community and collaboration in the utilities industry.  The event brings together decision makers across all disciplines to discuss how to optimize marketing budgets, reduce costs from print and mail, leverage multichannel distribution and improve community relations and overall efficiency.  Attendees “learned about digital print trends” and found the event “entertaining and unique” and “timely and relevant,” along with praise for the keynote and case study presenters.

“We took the feedback from last year’s Go Beyond the Meter event to build an agenda that tapped into the primary pain points of the utilities industry.  This approach once again received feedback which was simply off the charts,” said Mike Bryant, worldwide practice leader, strategy and marketing analytics, Ricoh.  “Our goal here is always to provide utilities with a range of relevant options that will help improve their communications strategies and, ultimately, their bottom lines.  Based on the feedback we’ve received, we have certainly achieved our goal.  And we already have demand for another event in 2013.”
