    1. Zeno Imaging, a Houston-based office equipment provider, recently acquired Houston-based Global Services for an undisclosed amount.

Prior to the acquisition, both companies employed about 75 people, and the combined entity has locations in Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

Zeno has additional growth plans, as well. The company is hiring in all markets for sales and service positions at all levels, a Zeno spokesperson told HBJ. The company also has plans to expand into the Dallas market.

Zeno President Byron Simpson and CEO Tom Frederick said in a statement that the acquisition will allow the company to expand its products and services. Zeno provides digital document workflow systems, security and storage solutions, and managed print services, and Global Services provides managed print services, multifunction systems and document solutions.

“As the printing and imaging industry continues the transformation toward a more services-lead model, it is imperative for market players to integrate more IT-related solutions as part of a comprehensive production/services package,” Frederick said in a July 19 statement.
