   In my previous two articles, Delivering Output Reliably in Mission Critical Environments and Key Features for Effective Enterprise Output Management, I have highlighted typical applications for which output management software is appropriate and key features that enable enterprises to reap the benefits of their investment in EOM technology.  This article will introduce additional key features that Barr Systems  customers identify as critical contributors to successfully delivering and managing output in their operations.

   Assign costs to printed documents

   • Track costs for every print file regardless of the source, format or destination.
   • Assign print costs to internal projects, billing accounts, etc.
   • Set daily, weekly, monthly or custom interval quotas. 

   Change user behavior with business rules

   • Receive documents from mainframes, AS/400s and UNIX hosts to route to network printers.
   • Enable pull-printing and secure release at the MFP for these documents.
   • Track and report on all print jobs in addition to office print.
   • Leverage failover and other Barr EOM features
