    1. Print Yatra Reached Uttar Pradesh

The novel concept of Offset Printers’ Association (OPA) under the guidance and control of Kamal Chopra gained momentum with the joining of Asia’s largest printers association - Delhi Printers Association (DPA), led by Mr. Arun Berry.

It is seen that printing is an unorganized sector; ‘Print Yatra’ project was launched by OPA in the year 2010, just to educate the printers about the latest trends in the industry and the schemes available with the Government of India for the improvement of SME’s. The main thrust is to persuade the printers to form associations, it is seen that printing press exists almost in each and every city but due to unorganized sector it is not easy to reach them to educate them about the various schemes available with the Government of India and to check the problems being faced by them. In the last about two years it was possible to form 35 new associations in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan through the ‘Print Yatra’.

With the active support of DPA, ‘Print Yatra’ reached Uttar Pradesh and visited Mathura, Agra, Kanpur and Lucknow in the first phase. During this visit Mr. Arun Berry, President DPA and Mr. Kamal Chopra General Secretary OPA narrated the report of drupa every where the printers were excited to know about the Nanography -  latest innovation of Mr. Beny Landa. At Mathura a small meeting was arranged by the 12 printers of the city. After brief persuasion and address of Arun Berry, they all agreed to form association. After forming the association at Mathura the Print yatra left for next destination – Agra.

Print Yatra reached Agra – Mr. Arun Berry with the printers of Agra

It was a big gathering at Agra eager to welcome the ‘Print yatra’ though the scheduled stoppage was for one hour only but the printers insisted to stay more to share their problems and the various schemes available with the Government of India for the overall development of SME sector. It took more than four hours to explain the various schemes and to discuss the various other projects with Agra Printers. Agra printers formed the new association in the presence of Mr. Arun Berry and Mr. Kamal Chopra then and there, Mr. Berry assured them complete support and required guidance any time.

As per the schedule the ‘Print Yatra’ was to reach Kanpur at 6.00 p.m. but due to more time spent at Agra the ‘Print Yatra’ reached Kanpur at 9.00 p.m. The meeting was arranged by the Kanpur Press  Owners Associations (KPOA) at the Cwanpur Club. KPOA made wonderful arrangement to welcome the Print Yatra.
