While not everybody will admit to it, most of us fear change. Hey, change isn’t easy—but most of us have learned it’s necessary for survival in today’s fast-paced world.
I frequently look to our industry’s leaders for knowledge and inspiration—and that includes peering right into my own backyard. This was the case recently when I sat in on a presentation titled, “Mastering the Game of Change,” by Kevin Warren, the president of Xerox’s $3 billion United States Client Operations, whose talk focused on business transformation.

I attended the recent Xerox Focus Forward conference in Los Angeles. The events continue to be well designed and offer the attendees a wealth of information. I particularly like that after the keynote speaker they breakup into two groups, one for MPS and one for those interested in In-House Printing.
The MPS breakout session was hosted by Carl Lansenkamp, Director of Global Analyst Relations, Xerox Corp. Robert Palmer, Market Analyst and Industry Consultant, joined Carl in presenting MPS specific information to the audience. They also introduced other industry experts and visiting end users that “told their story”.

Spring is a good time for taking a fresh look at things – cleaning up the yard, the house, your desk – to make life and work a little more simple. State and local governments too are looking at every part of their infrastructure in an effort to make work more efficient and serve the public in faster, more efficient ways. Believe it or not, the print infrastructure is still one place most haven’t looked – and it remains a huge opportunity for cost savings.(Read Full Article)

So says Richard Karlgaard, columnist and publisher for Forbes and the keynote speaker at Xerox’s recent Focus Forward event held in Chicago. Karlgaard covered a lot of ground in the keynote address, but his discussion around the “soft virtue” of teamwork really resonated with me and tied perfectly with what turned out to be the theme of the day.
One of the real advantages to attending the Focus Forward events is the opportunity to hear directly from customers

Big data is becoming an engine of job creation as businesses discover ways to turn data into revenue, according to research firm Gartner.
There were a lot of reasons for Gartner researchers to give a gloomy economic outlook at its Symposium/ITxpo conference here, especially after the latest round of quarterly reports from Intel, IBM and others. But the picture painted by Peter Sondergaard, Gartner's head of research, was upbeat in a surprising way.
Gartner isn't revising its global IT growth forecast significantly, which remains down from the initial expectations for this year. But Garter's relatively flat ...(Read Full Article)

- At one time, experts predicted we’d gradually move toward a paper-free world. But the modern small business is far from it. According to The Economist, in the past 30 years, worldwide paper consumption has gone up by 50 percent. Even though some things can be converted to a digital format, printed communication still excels as a marketing tool. Why are we using more paper than ever? We have more to print.
